Social Return on Investment (SROI) is being heavily promoted by governments as an approach for measuring the true difference an organisation or a project is making. As members of the SROI Network we are helping to develop the approach further to make it as user friendly as possible. We have just started an SROI review of Sunderland City Council’s Youth Villages project to produce evidence of the difference the events are making to young people and the local community as a whole, but also to agencies such as the police and fire brigade – watch this space! For an evaluation we are working on for the SROI Network we are very keen to get your views on the SROI approach – even if you haven’t used it yet and don’t really know what it is about.
