Our aim is to improve public sector performance. To help organisations do this we draw on a specialist team of employment and skills experts. Our work involves assessing skills shortages, labour market need, migration issues and impact of training provision. We have measured use of facilities and we use GIS mapping to show employers procurement of training. Denis manages the ongoing South of Scotland Labour Market and Economic Intelligence project which recently involved producing a report on workforce aspirations and opportunities in the rural south. He has carried out research into commuting and migration in the Scottish Borders and work on the impact of labour shortages and recruitment problems in rural areas. He can draw on recognised experts.
